INNER VIEW
By Sri Madhusudan Naidu
I am, because you are
The devotees from Kerala had started trickling in to the Ashram, a day before the festival Onam. An eager Swami called one of the Ashram volunteers to enquire about the welfare of the devotees, their stay and food.
It was during this brief conversation that Swami began to speak a bit about the mythology of Onam and the legend of Bali Chakravarthi, who once ruled the land, but offered his all to the Lord in charity, and accepted a humble dwelling in the nether worlds, with the special privilege to visit his folks every Onam day.
Well this is the common story told which I also knew, but then Swami gave a beautiful insight in to the significance of this story which left me spell bound.
Swami said, "It was not to punish the King Bali Chakravarthi at the request of a worried Indra who feared the loss of his throne of the heaven, but to demonstrate the devotion and surrender of King Bali Chakravarthi to all, Lord Vishnu incarnated as the dwarf Vamana Swaroopa. Similarly, even today to demonstrate the devotion and surrender of My devotees, I have assumed the Sookshma Swaroopa (Subtle form). Today, a handful of devotees are doing so much of Swami's work due to their immense devotion, selfless sacrifice and absolute surrender. In order to let the whole world know about such devoted people, I have taken this form now!"
Who could have given this perspective other than the Lord Himself, who is the divine director of this cosmic drama? Yet the Lord of the Universe, at the end of it all, humbles Himself like the little Vamana, and gives all the credit to His devotees like the great King Bali.
Just a few days ago in Russia, Swami spoke to the simple devotees and said, "God was, devotees were. Devotees are, God is. I am, because you are."

INAUGURATION OF DIVINE MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM SEPTEMBER 01, 2017
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba says, "There cannot be a child without a mother and a mother without a child. The birth of a child commemorates the birth of a mother as well. A mother and child are interdependent for their own health and well-being. Only when the mother is healthy, can her child enjoy good health and only when the child is healthy, can the mother remain healthy and happy."
A large section of women and children in the lowest economic bracket in most developing countries have little or no access to quality healthcare. Fortunately, most of the diseases in mothers and children are largely preventable. It was during the Asia Pacific Youth Meet at Malaysia earlier this year, that Bhagawan launched the Asia Pacific medical outreach camp.
On the morning of September 01, 2017, a number of doctors, volunteers, paramedics, officials of the District Health Office – Chikkaballapur, students and devotees had assembled at Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham to witness the embarking of a new chapter in the medical history of India and the world at large. Bhagawan arrived at around 10.30 a.m. and was welcomed with the traditional Poorna Kumbam and Vedic hymns. Bhajansby students were also in progress.
Once the dignitaries were seated on the dais, the Divine Mother and Child Health Programme was officially launched by Bhagawan, with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The proceedings began with Vedic invocation by....

ONAM CELEBRATIONS – SATHYA SAI GRAMA, MUDDENAHALLI – SEPTEMBER 03, 2017 (DAY 1)
Thiruvonam is the festivity of plenty and prosperity, and it is the day that marks, as per the legend, the arrival of erstwhile Emperor Mahabali, enquiring after the welfare of the citizens of God's Own Country, Kerala. On the eve of Onam, students and devotees gathered eagerly at the Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham Auditorium, which bore a magnificent look, beautifully decorated in the traditional Kerala style, by the devotees of Kerala. They had planned everything meticulously, and started with all the decorations two days prior.
On the auspicious eve of Onam, the Lord made His grand entry escorted by the devotees of Kerala with Poorna Kumbham, and to the melodious tunes of Bhajans and Nadaswaram.
Once Bhagawan was seated on His throne, there was a recap of the recent Divine visit to Russia and Lithuania, followed by a short summary of the three-day health screening that had been held across the Asia Pacific countries.
The evening's programme then began with Vedam chanting by the devotees of Kerala. This was followed by a talk by sister Srikala M, an alumna from the Anantapur campus who is currently working as a vocational teacher for biomedical equipment technology and is in the process of initiating the breakfast seva programme in the district of Palakkad. Narrating the story of Onam, of Mahabali Chakravarthy, she....

The morning began with soulful Bhajans. Bhagawan arrived in the Hall amidst Vedachanting by the devotees of Kerala. He hoisted the flag called Kodiyettam. WHY DO WE REMEMBER AND CELEBRATE KING MAHABALI? – DIVINE DISCOURSE SUMMARY – ONAM – SEPTEMBER 4, 2017
Today with great love, devotion and reverence for King Mahabali, we all celebrate this great festival of Onam. He isn't not just another king who ruled the three worlds. He isn't known for his kingdom or power or wealth or progeny. He has become immortal today in the hearts of people because of his surrender and sacrifice. This is the ideal that we must celebrate on this very festival of Onam. Land of India is Tapobhumi – the land of penance. It is Tyagabhumi – the land of sacrifice. It is Yogabhumi – it is the world of highest attainment. It is Divyabhumi – it is the land of divinity. In such a land the one who is born must consider oneself as supremely blessed.
In the principles of sacrifice, sacrificing everything for the sake of God, has been propounded as the highest. There was no one at that point of time mightier than Mahabali. Wherever you see in his kingdom, there was only prosperity, no poverty at all. No one – not a single person – in his kingdom shed tears of sorrow or suffering. He loved all his people like his own children. And he was a great Dani or a great giver. At such point of time, when his glory was spreading everywhere, to demonstrate to the rest of the world, not just his might but his sense of devotion and surrender, this drama was enacted.
Look at this…Prahlada sacrificed his father for the sake of God. Bharata gave up his own mother for the sake of God. Vibheeshana gave up his own brother for the sake of God. Bali Chakravarty gave...
HOW CAN WE IMPROVE INFANT HEALTH? DIVINE DISCOURSE SUMMARY INAUGURATION OF DIVINE MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM SEPTEMBER 1, 2017
The very basic necessity for every human being born on earth is good health. Unless a person has good health, one cannot engage in any kind of activity in this world, which is called the land of activities or Karma bhumi. It will be very unfortunate and narrow-minded to think that somebody's health problem is none of our concern. For, in this society and the world that we live in, everything is interdependent. Since time immemorial, Indian culture recogised the whole world as one single family and called it Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. And it taught the Indians to pray not just for themselves or for their limited families but for the entire world, which they must consider as their own family. Let all the beings be happy. Let everyone be without any illness. Let everyone see auspiciousness everywhere. Nobody should have any sorrow. When the ancient Rishis recited their prayers, they always ended with this prayer for the well-being of everyone Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu – Let all the beings in the world be happy.
It is unfortunate that with the so-called evolution of man the values have devolved in human beings. And the most basic fundamental basic necessities and in fact, rights of every human being, being education and health, are made into businesses that only work for the sake of profiteering. Today, health is being sold and purchased, and so is education. It is extremely important to recognise the need for everyone's welfare for one's own...
CAN YOU COUNT THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCES EMBEDDED IN GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION? DIVINE DISCOURSE SUMMARY GANESH CHATURTHI – AUGUST 25, 2017
Atma tatvam, or the principle of Atman, is only for those who have pure hearts. This is the truth; this is what Swami is telling us. It is extremely important for a Sadhaka or the one who is a seeker to first and foremost purify his own mind, intellect and heart. Unless these things are purified, there is no way that he will be able to attain that realization that he seeks. Unless we have done the purification of our inner selves by getting rid of the six enemies that pollute the inner self, which are nothing but born out of Ahamkara that is ego or Mamakara that is attachment, there is no way any amount of Mantras, any amount of Japas or Tapas can help you.
The one who begins on this path of spirituality, before everything else, must invoke the blessings of Ganesha, who resides at the Muladhara or the basic Chakra at the very beginning. Ganesha is one who embodies or personifies the three kinds of energies. Jnana Shakti – the power of one's wisdom or Jnana, the second one is Ichcha Shakti or the will power and the third is Kriya Shakti or the power of action. These three Shaktis also arise from the very basic Chakra of Muladharawhich is where Ganesha resides. These Shaktis are present in the form of Ida, Pingala and Sushumna. He will give you healthy body which will help you to undertake activities. This is represented by the IdaShakti. Then one also needs the intelligence, the mind which is bright and intelligent in order to undertake
