In 2017 a Satsang held in the divine presence in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. when asked about seeking forgiveness.
Here is what Swami said:
You can always ask for forgiveness; you can always put in your application. Whether it is granted or not is up to God. You can always ask for forgiveness but, more importantly, you should learn how to forgive, before you ask for forgiveness.
"Those who forgive, are forgiven," said Jesus. Therefore, first you develop the nature of forgiving people, then you can also be forgiven by God. It depends on your purity; it depends on your paschattapa. What is paschattapa? It is the kind of remorse and anguish you go through for having done wrong. Not only that, make a firm resolution that you will never repeat it again.
With that feeling of sincerity, when you ask for forgiveness, then you can be forgiven. Even the President of India can forgive criminals, correct? Then why would God not forgive you, if you are true in your sincerity?
